Canvas — Terms & Conditions

Welcome to Canvas (“we,” “our,” or “us”).
These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Canvas website, mobile application, and related services (collectively, the “Platform”).
By accessing or using Canvas, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
If you do not agree, please do not use our services.
1. About Canvas
Canvas is a content discovery and learning platform where users (“Creators” or “Users”) can share, explore, and learn through short-form video content.
- Some content is hosted directly on Canvas.
- Other content may be embedded or referenced from third-party platforms such as Instagram.
- Canvas provides tools to showcase creative video content but does not claim ownership of user-generated content unless explicitly stated.
2. Eligibility
- You must be at least 13 years old to use Canvas.
- If you are under 18, you may only use Canvas with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian.
- By using Canvas, you represent that you are capable of entering into a binding agreement under applicable law.
3. User Accounts
To upload, comment, or interact with content, you may need to create an account.
You agree to:
- Provide accurate and current information.
- Maintain the confidentiality of your account credentials.
- Be responsible for all activities conducted under your account.
Canvas reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
4. User-Generated Content
Ownership & Responsibility
- You retain ownership of all videos, comments, and media (“User Content”) you post.
- By uploading or sharing content, you grant Canvas a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, and distribute your content on the Platform for functional or promotional purposes.
You represent and warrant that:
- You own or control all necessary rights to your content.
- You have secured all required permissions, including from individuals featured in your content.
- Your content does not infringe any third-party rights, including copyright, trademark, or privacy rights.
5. Embedded or Referenced Content
Some content on Canvas may be embedded from or reference content originally published on Instagram or other third-party platforms.
Such content:
- Remains hosted on the original platform.
- Is subject to that platform’s terms and copyright policies.
- Is not owned or controlled by Canvas.
Canvas displays such content solely for informational or educational purposes and does not claim ownership or licensing rights over music, sounds, or other copyrighted media within it.
If you are a rights holder and believe your content is improperly embedded, please contact us (see Section 10).
6. Music & Copyright Responsibility
By uploading or sharing content on Canvas, you confirm that:
- Any music, sound, or media used is original, properly licensed, or otherwise lawfully used.
- Music licenses granted by Instagram or other platforms do not automatically extend to Canvas.
- You are solely responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable copyright laws.
Canvas does not provide or extend music licensing.
We may remove content that appears to violate copyright laws or receives a valid complaint.
7. Copyright Policy (DMCA Compliance)
Canvas respects intellectual property rights and complies with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA).
If you believe your copyrighted work has been used on Canvas without authorization, please email support@bombaycanvas.com with:
- Your name and contact details
- A description of the copyrighted work
- A link or description of the allegedly infringing content
- A statement that you believe the use is unauthorized
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and you are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner
Upon valid notice, Canvas will promptly remove or disable access to the material and may terminate repeat infringers.
8. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to:
- Upload or distribute unlawful, defamatory, or harmful content.
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation.
- Use Canvas for spam, data mining, or unauthorized commercial activity.
- Interfere with platform operations or attempt to breach security.
Canvas may suspend or remove content or accounts that violate these rules.
9. Platform Rights
Canvas reserves the right to:
- Modify, suspend, or discontinue the Platform or its features.
- Review, moderate, or remove content that violates these Terms or community guidelines.
- Update these Terms as necessary (significant changes will be communicated).
10. Reporting Infringement or Abuse
If you encounter content that violates these Terms or infringes your rights, please contact us:

All valid reports are reviewed promptly.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Canvas and its team are not liable for:
- Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
- Any content posted by users or third parties.
- Any loss or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Platform.
Your use of Canvas is at your own risk.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Canvas, its affiliates, and employees from any claims, damages, or liabilities arising from:
- Your content,
- Your use of the Platform, or
- Your violation of these Terms.
13. Termination
Canvas may suspend or terminate your access at any time if you violate these Terms or for other legitimate business reasons.
You may delete your account at any time.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India.
Any disputes shall be resolved exclusively in the courts of Madhya Pradesh.
